We Build Green
Building Green is environmentally responsible. This building method works to improve the performance of a building while helping provide a “whole building” approach to sustainability. There are 5 key components to this building process:
1) Sustainable site development
2) Water savings
3) Energy efficiency
4) Material selection
5) Indoor environmental quality
The process considers the relationship of a building, its components, the building’s surroundings, and building occupants. The idea is to design, construct, and maintain buildings to use the least amount of energy possible while creating a more comfortable, healthier, and safer workplace. A green building consumes less energy resources over the lifespan of the facility. Other advantages of building “green” include generating less waste during construction and in operation of the building, reduction of operational and maintenance costs, and reducing the strain on community infrastructure, landfills, and natural resources. Thought is given to acquiring building products that are available locally. The process also includes considering the re-use of recycled goods such as steel, lumber, and flooring materials.
With LEED Accredited Professionals on staff, we are committed to partnering with our clients who wish to build to LEED or Green Globes criteria.
