PROJECT FACTS
The 64,000-square-foot residence hall surpasses the previous largest residence hall on campus, the 47,000-square-foot MacLean Hall, which was completed in 1927. Designed primarily for first-year students, the new hall will replace two aging residence halls, Smith Hall (1964) and King Hall (1971).
The building is organized into 10 housing communities and features both single- and double-occupancy rooms, along with a community kitchen on the first floor. Each floor also includes common and collaborative spaces where students can gather, socialize, and study. The two common areas on the first and second floors are additionally designed to serve as shelter-in-place locations.
Additional amenities include an elevator, study rooms, a gaming lounge, laundry rooms, a residential staff office, and a professional staff apartment.
