ATU Holds Grand Opening for Ferguson Student Union

Arkansas Tech University held a grand opening for the Ferguson Student Union on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. Kinco was honored to serve as the construction manager on such a significant project for the university. An institution that has contributed immeasurably to the State of Arkansas and beyond since its founding in 1909. This project stands as a testament to what strong teamwork and shared commitment can achieve, and we believe it will serve as a model of success for years to come.

The Ferguson Student Union at Arkansas Tech serves as a central hub for student life in the heart of campus. The facility brings together key student-focused amenities, including a food court, meeting rooms, and both indoor and outdoor recreation spaces.

A north-south connecting lobby divides the building into two primary components: the recreation center on the east and the student union on the west. The recreation center features two full-court gymnasiums, cardio and fitness areas, group exercise rooms, and a recreation administration suite. Support spaces such as lockers, first aid, and storage rooms are located on Level 1.

On the west side of the lobby, the student union includes a lounge area and a banquet hall that can be divided into three separate spaces as needed. Student organization offices and the union administration suite are located on Level 2.
