Doug wasson Inducted into the Arkansas Construction hall of Fame
Kinco CEO Doug Wasson was inducted into the Arkansas Construction Hall of Fame on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Chenal Country Club. The Hall of Fame was established in 1999 to honor and recognize outstanding individuals in the construction industry. These individuals are held in high esteem by their peers and have demonstrated their professionalism through active support of the industry and civic and community involvement.
Doug’s career is a storybook of success, driven by his perseverance and passion for construction. After graduating from high school in Arkadelphia, Doug attended SAU Tech in Camden, AR, to study construction. While in college, he began working for Kinco Constructors and joined the company full-time after graduating in 1982. He was promoted to superintendent at a young age and was entrusted with leading many of Kinco’s most challenging projects throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. Later, he was promoted to vice president of operations and began coaching and developing many of the team members who are still employed by Kinco today. Doug has devoted his entire career to building Kinco Constructors into one of Arkansas’s leading construction managers/general contractors.
In 2000, Doug, along with three other partners, purchased Kinco from founder Jack Kinnaman. Under Doug’s leadership, the company has experienced significant growth while remaining true to its roots as an exceptional builder known for quality and outstanding service. He played a key role in expanding Kinco’s capabilities, including the creation of the Special Projects Division to focus on smaller jobs and service work.
In 1991, he helped launch Kinco’s Northwest Arkansas office and has helped lead it for the last 35 years. He focused on safety training, which has created an award-winning program. In 2017, Kinco was awarded the prestigious AGC Willis Towers Watson Safety Award, becoming the first contractor in Arkansas to receive the award. Additionally, Doug guided Kinco through a leadership transition from its founding generation to a new group of partners, positioning the company’s next generation of leaders for continued success.
Doug’s industry leadership includes serving as president of AGC Arkansas in 2007, the UALR Construction Advisory Council and the American Institute of Constructors. For more than a decade, he has served on the AGC Arkansas Board of Directors and co-chaired its Legislative Committee, helping advance legislation that support the construction industry statewide.
Doug’s profound impact on the industry is evident in many ways, but none more than in the people he has mentored both at Kinco Constructors and across the construction industry in Arkansas.
